Our Purpose:

 

To offer a fun, friendly, enjoyable Marathon experience. We will provide a well organized event that offers many of the amenities of larger marathons but without the crowds.

 

The Course

The 2012 marathon, half marathon and marathon relay race courses

will not see any major changes in the course design and we

are hoping for less water this year

Asphalt 90%, Concrete 10%

Type:

Loop (Miles 0 to 7), Point to Point (Miles 7 to 10.5), Out and Back (Miles 10.5 to 26.2)

Net Elevation Loss:

170 feet

Course Elevation:

5120 feet above sea level (Comparable to Denver, CO at 5280 feet)

The Casper Marathon Course. Sept 25 2006

 

On September 25th2006 the Casper Marathon committee was honored to welcome Ultra Marathoner Dean Karnazes as he completed his 9th marathon in as many days on the Casper Marathon course. His quest to run 50 marathons in 50 days was part of the North Face Endurance 50 Challenge. The Casper Marathon Committee would like to thank and congratulate Dean on his success as he completed his expedition Nov. 6, at the New York City Marathon.

General:

Casper is located in central Wyoming. Casper and Cheyenne are the two largest cities in the state. The population of Casper is 49664.

Flying:

Casper is served through Natrona County International Airport (NCIA), located 12 miles west of town. NCIA offers connections to Salt Lake City, Denver, and Billings, MT.

Driving:

Interstate 25 runs through Casper. Mileage from Casper to Cheyenne is 180 miles, 280 to Denver, 410 to Salt Lake City, 280 to Billings, MT.
